input parameters use_ws and use_ws_distance

Good day,
I want to ask a question about the input parameters use_ws and use_ws_distance. I have not found the description of these parameters and their recommended values for modeling on the website in the input parameters section - https://docs.epw-code.org/doc/Inputs.html. However, these input parameters are used in EPW program and there are examples of their use in a few publications. Can I get brief recommendations on their use or references to publications for the purposes of modeling transport properties of semiconductor materials - conductivity, charge carrier velocity, scattering rates and so on.
