The plot of Eliashberg function for anisotropic superconductor

Post by ilias-serifi »

Hello dear administrators and users,

I am working on 2D superconductors and I have obtained a multigap band superconductor with two bonding channels (σ and π). I have successfully plotted the anisotropic gap, but now I would like to further confirm the existence of these channels by decomposing the Eliashberg function α²F(ω) according to orbital symmetry (σ vs. π).

Is there any information, example, or guideline on how this decomposition can be achieved within EPW?

Best regards,
Ilias

Dear Ilias,

I am not sure and I might be overlooking something, but to me it seems like the only possibility would be to manually select the bands which enter the α²F(ω) calculation..
The orbital character of the bands can be calculated with projwfc.x from QE, for example.

Best regards,

Nina.

Dear Ilias,

You can explain the orbital symmetry by analyzing the lambda_k_pairs and lambda_pairs files, along with the Fermi surface gap plot. Please also refer to the MgB2 example in EPW "https://docs.epw-code.org/doc/MgB2.html".

Shashi
