Dear friends
I would like to ask you, when computing superconductivity, when do you solve the anisotropic ME equation, when do you solve the isotropic equation? And also, does McMillan's Tc formula only apply when it's isotropic?
Yours Sincerely
Shi

Re: anisotropic ME equation and isotropic equation
Hi Shi,
When there is anisotropy in superconducting gap, one need to solve anisotropic ME equations, for example in MgB2, and if there is no anisotropy, both aniso/iso give comparable Tc.
The McMillan Tc is close to the isotropic Tc.

Dear friends
Thank you for your reply. May I ask you another question, how can I find Tc in the case of anisotropy? How can I tell if a superconductor is isotropic or anisotropic? Looking forward to your reply.
Yours sincerely

Hi Shi,
I would recommend you to read this paper; https://journals.aps.org/prb/pdf/10.110 ... .87.024505
You can see two examples, Pb (isotropic) and MgB2 (anisotropic).
