dear all,

what is the difference between phonon DOS and eliasberg spectral function?
how the latter is different from the former?
if we have DOS what is the need for eliasberg spectral function?

Hi,
The Eliashberg spectral function carries information on the weight of each phonon in the e-ph coupling (see e.g. Eq.2 in https://journals.aps.org/prb/abstract/1 ... evB.6.2577), hence it is not necessarily peaked as the phonon DOS - for example see Fig.4 in https://journals.aps.org/prb/abstract/1 ... .88.224509
Hope this helps,
Carla

dear maam,
thanks for the reply
some more study material/references etc related to eliasberg function would be most welcome.
