modeling the average velocity of electrons and holes

Good day, I would like to ask a question that relate to modeling the average velocity of electrons and holes. In modeling I used the program QE v.7.2 and EPW v.5.7. Question is related to the units of the velocity values that are obtained in the IBTEvel_sup.fmt and vmedata.fmt files. What conversion factor should be used to get the velocity values in the sm/s values and a magnitude of approximately 1E+07 that is usually observed for conventional semiconductors.

Hi Mishchenko,

The velocity is in Atomic Rydberg Units, "Ry*Bohr/hbar". However, in Atomic Rydberg Units, Bohr = 1 and hbar = 1, thus to convert velocity in "IBTEvel_sup.fmt" to SI units, you need to multiply with "factor = Ry*Bohr/hbar", where Ry, Bohr and hbar are all in SI units.
