Question about EPW 3.0 -physically meaningful results for Pb

Dear Developers and Users of EPW,

I would like to calculate the Eliashberg spectral function for Pb using EPW.

I successfully installed QE version 4.0.3 and EPW-3.0.0.
Next I try reproduce step-by-step FCC Lead tutorial in order to receive physically meaningful results (http://epw.org.uk/Documentation/FCCLead)

As a results I have seventeen Pb.dyn files (from 0 to 16), one Pb.dvscf1 file and none
_ph0/diam.phsave folder. I think that something is wrong but I don't know what.

Next problem is inside the epw directory with nscf.in:

I received the following error: "from read_namelists : error # 1
reading namelist phonon"

I think that above error is connected with fact that I have only one Pb.dvscf1 file.

Please help me with these problems.

Dear Artur,

We will soon release the new version of EPW: v4. This version is compatible with the latest version of QE.

Most of the tutorial on the website are now related with this new version.

If you want to try my development branches (not fully stable) you can do so by downloading it at

To make it work you will also need the latest trunk of QE that you can temporarily access from
