How to generate the band.eig or phband.freq files in epw

Post by mirshowkat07 »

Dear users and experts
I am following the instructions to reproduce the results of Pb given in the tutorial (Tutorial Tue.5) workshop of 2021.
While running the ewp.x code for wannier interpolation of electronic and phonon bands, the code does not generate the band.eig and phband.freq files.
I am not changing anything in the input files. Kindly, suggest how to solve the problem.

with best regards
Dr SHowkat

Hi Dr SHowkat

I went through the tutorial file "Tue.5.Lee.pdf", and on page 8, it is well explained, please see the attachment.

Best,
Hari

Dear Hari
Thank you for answering. Well, I am following the same tutorial and the input files they provided.
I did many tries but the epw code did not generate the band.eig and phband.freq files.
The epw input and output files are attached here...

Re: How to generate the band.eig or phband.freq files in epw

Hi Dr SHowkat,

Looking at your output file, the job is not done. You might have some error messages, could you please double check and let us know what it says? At the mean time, you can also try running in different number of cores (more than 24) if possible. Looks like a memory problem to me.

Best,
Hari

Dear Hari
You are right that the calculation stops in the middle after the calculation part "Calculating kgmap" starts.
The code does not generate any errors, so it becomes a problem in troubleshooting.
Have you run the tutorial on your machine. Well, I am using QE.6.7. Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

I solved the problem by changing

etf_mem = 0

in the pb.ewp1.in file
